SEO is a very broad field. Even within SEO, experts have different levels of expertise depending on their specific area of specialization. For example, some are On-page SEO experts, some are Off-page SEO experts, and others are Technical SEO experts.

Because of this, it is difficult to accurately judge someone’s true level of expertise in SEO. If I were to list SEO experts based on whom I personally like the most or whose tips have helped me the most, the list would become biased.

That is why I have created this list based on the online presence of these SEO experts. This is the most practical way to understand how popular someone is and how much they are liked by people.

So, this list of the top SEO experts in the world is being created based on their popularity on YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

There is no ranking such as number 1, 2, or 3 in this list, and everyone included here is outstanding in their own way. If you are a travel blogger, food blogger, SEO expert, freelancer, digital marketer then this list is for you.

Nathan is one of the popular SEOs from Greater St. Louis, USA who keep sharing SEO knowledge via his youtube channel Nathan Gotch. With more than 123K subscribers and more than 300 videos he has build a strong community on youtube.

Nathan started his SEO journey in 2011 when he first tried to grow his baseball blog. He has run hundreds of successful SEO campaigns in competitive niches like health, SaaS, Legal and B2B. Now he started his own tool called Rankability.

This tool has content optimizer, AI SEO writer, Keyword Finder and AI search analyzer. He is also running his SEO training program by Rankability Academy which was previously known as Gotch SEO Academy. He post 2 to 3 times in a week on Linkedin and 1 to 2 times on Youtube.

Brian Dean is one of my favorites. I am following him since he started Backlinko. His SEO videos on Youtube were like Gems for me in my blogging journey on bloggingidol.com. He also kept sharing deep authority blogs on backlinko. Now backlinko acquired by Semrush and Semrush acquired by Adobe.

Right now Brian is not active on any social media. His last tweet on X is on 17th July in which he shared a post from Backlinko. He grew up in Rhode Island, USA. His first successful blog was in personal finance in 2012, after 5 failed online businesses. He also co-founded Exploding Topic which was also acquired by Semrush.

Rand Fishkin is another name in SEO industry and known as Whiteboard Friday person for me. I know him from the days he worked with Moz as cofounder.

Now he is CEO & cofounder of SparkToro (SEO tool for Businesses and Marketers), Altermouse (Google Trend Alternative) and indie game developer Snackbar Studio. He always share family photos on instagram and support chill work culture.

He is a critique of silicon valley culture and says chill work style focuses on profitability and sustainability rather than hyper-growth, allows for a balanced life.
